12U Boys Advance to State Championship Tournament

The Kingston Cal Ripken 12U boys baseball team advanced to their second straight State Championship Tournament, winning 4 of 5 games in the recent District 3 Tournament, held in Highland NY.

Kingston once again displayed their powerful bats, blasting 15 home-runs over the 5 game tournament, including an impressive performance from Jacob Bonesteel, who belted 3 dingers in one game. Jake Crantz, Matt McNierney, Dylan Noble, Josh Kowatch, and Hunter Mejias also contributed to the home run barrage.

Kingston got strong pitching performances from Ryan McCardle, Matt McNierney, Bradley Clark and Dylan Noble.  McCardle and Clark combined for a 3 hit, 1 run performance in the opening 11-1 win vs. Highland, while McNierney and Noble provided strong performances against Marlboro and New Paltz.

In Kingston’s 13-2 semi-final win vs Highland, Bradley Clark led the way by blasting 2 home runs and pitching 4 innings of shutout ball. Kingston fell short to Marlboro in the Championship game, 10-6.

Bonesteel, McNierney and Kowtach were selected to the All-District 3 Team as voted on by the opposing coaches.

Kingston’s 12U boys now advances to the State Championship tournament, held July 6-12 in Burnt Hills, NY.
